Sandy Hook Elementary

Trying to ignore it best I could
Something's you cant ignore
Did not watch the news
Did not look on the internet
Avoided

An angel with an apple
A wood sculpture at Hallmark
Teared up in the mall

It has an effect
On every one
Gets into our lives
No matter how we try
To not let it in

Video Games

Turn on the Xbox

That green illuminated circle

Trying to get every achievement

Is this really achieving anything?

I like pretending

Like reading a book

Takes you away

To strange new worlds

Wasting time?

Is that possible

Sometimes I wonder

Sometimes it feels like

Is any joy ever a waste of time?

Even mindless distraction?

My dog sleeps on her love sack

Sleep Sleep Sleep

Until we go for a walk

She doesn't waste any time

Disgruntled Elf

Full time work

Building the toys

Wooden trains

Red cars

Damn you Xbox, Nintendo, I pods!

Taking away the joy.

Where is the red fire truck!

The star war action figures

The imagination.

Gone all gone!

Jolly old saint nick

A Coca-Cola Icon

Where are the Elves Coca-Cola!

We are here!

The damn "Santa" getting the credit

Working us night and day

No benefits, no vacation

Just a HOHOHOHO

Making these things that are thrown away.

I saw pictures of that fat lard!

Drinking his Coke,

Laying on a warm hammock on some island

While we Elves toile and bleed!

Its time to take Christmas

To rise up my fellow Elves

and say once and for all

Merry Christmas to all

And to ALL a good night

INCLUDING THE ELVES!!!!!

Dying Snowflakes

geekyscifi.com

Falling from the sky

Marshmallow like home far above

Drifting silently, effortlessly, in a timeless vacuum

New birth falling freely, where the wind carries

No two are ever alike

Wondering falling

Down

Down

Down

Finally resting

Melting into the earth

Mixing with the soil

Marking its journey

Then rising

Rise

Rise

Rise

One with the cloud again

Waiting for the wind

To take another journey
