Growing Up

I use to be a little boy
I use to pick on my little brother
I use to pretend to be an airplane
I use to sail through lava

I use to be a teenager
I use to skip class
I use stay up all night
I use to sleep in all day

I am an adult
I am getting into my career
I am thinking long term
I am becoming responsible

I will be an old man
I will have back pain
I will have wrinkles
I will have stories to tell

Hawaiian Shirts

Blue sharks on cloth

Use to be worn with a bow tie

Sits derelict behind closed doors

Yellow palm trees with green lining

Use to bear every day

Now collects gray dust

Coconut buttons kept it to my chest

Finds its self in a white trash bag

Times have changed

I am altered

I am not the same

I have grown a little bit

I take them away

That teenage part of myself

To be given to thrift

Impart the past

Making room

Embracing the future

Life is change

Saturday Love

Saturday Love  ( based on Angels and Airwaves, written by Tom Delong)

I fly SR71’s in the warehouse

You laugh

You compare me with your three year old

Thank you

I still dream

I still see color

I have a soul

Its been screaming to come alive

I walk around the shadows

The observer in my own life

I am ready to take ownership

I have to admit

That I do feel like

An obtuse shape

The missing piece

Colorless

Without a pattern

I have not found my whole

Ill never grow up

I refuse

My innocence

My love

My soul

Will not die

I Dream

Of the color

That childlike

Spontaneous

Fun

Unadulterated

 Love

This is within every one of us

We have been caged

I wait sixteen

A Saturday love

Your eyes never grow up

Find your virtuousness

You’re childlike Innocence

That is yelling

To get out

And find its way

To never grow old
