Colorado Shooting

newsfeed.time.com

I woke up this morning

The reverberation

Cracking my skull

Sucking out my heart

I woke up this morning

To learn of our civilized society

Twelve dead fifty  wounded

The reporter rang

Casually  another day

I woke up this morning

Imagining the people

Families, dates, excited teens

Sitting in their seats

Black chaos

Smoke grenades, bullets, and screams

I woke up this morning

Still feeling shocked

Columbine, Nine Eleven

What people do to people

I woke up this morning

To shed tears

Tears for the innocent murdered

Tears for the bloodied wounded

Tears for the insane shooter

Tears for the grieving relatives

Tears for the hate of man

I woke up this morning

Understanding a little less

Trying to piece together

Pain and suffering

Why why why?

I woke up this morning

Sick to my stomach

Wanting just to

Love a little more and

Hate a little less
